Moraine State Park
This engagement shoot gives the term "golden hour" a completely new meaning. This gorgeous couple absolutely knocked their shoot out of the park! Ashley and I met at Clarion University; she has a sweet soprano voice and we sat next to each other in rehearsals for three years straight, every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. From my sophomore year on, I saw her at least twice a week in the Chambers Singers and my senior year, five days a week with rehearsals/performances. Needless to say, it was so great to see her after over a year and to hear all about her post-grad life and her and Tony's wedding plans.
At the beginning of the shoot, I told Ashley and Tony to just be themselves and that the best photos come from the candid moments when they aren't trying; hearing this, they looked a little skeptical. Yet about 30 minutes later when I captured them impromptu swing dancing in a beautiful field of tall grass with gorgeous golden hour sunlight streaming behind them, I knew that those photos were going to be my favorites from our time together (and they totally are). These two made our evening so fun and made the clock fly by SO fast (in fact I will admit I had so much fun with them I almost lost track of our sunset and panicked for a hot sec). Even better, Ashley requested that they hop into the lake at the end of their session for some adorable water photos, and the pink/purple hues in the sky behind them couldn't have made for better photos if I had painted the sky myself. Everything about this shoot was just beautiful - from the couple to the sunset to the lake. Take a peek for yourself!
Candidly,
Katie
