Courtney & Ryan's Maternity Session
Courtney had originally told me she loved the look of a creek or stream for her maternity photos, and that she wanted it to be fairly casual. Because of this nontraditional vision that Courtney had for her photos, I was extremely excited to see what kind of magic we could make together! So when we first got to the creek where Courtney wanted her photos taken, I asked: "So, how wet do you guys want to get?" And after giving a moment's thought, Courtney responded, much to my delight, "We'll get as wet as you want to get creative." And that was the absolute perfect answer for her to give me! Not once did they complain about the water (though it was 90+ degrees on the day of our shoot so it was quite refreshing) or how far in they got or the little fish that kept nibbling on our toes (and there were many). We slipped and splashed and shoo'd away minnows and had a wonderful time - which resulted in these gorgeous images below. Afterwards, as we were drying off our feet (and in their case, the entire lower half of their bodies) Courtney said, "Thanks for getting in the water with us." And that my friends, is what you want in your photographer. Because you better believe I splashed around in that water with them to get those perfect shots and angles. So when you're searching for your own photographer, remember - always find someone who will get in the water with you :)
