The Groves
Let me start by saying this: if there is even a chance of less than desirable weather on the day of a shoot, you can catch me furiously checking the weather app approximately 18 times per hour the day of. In this instance, there was no more than a 15% chance of rain at our designated shoot time, so I was happily pacified and looking forward to reconnecting with an old friend and meeting her husband and two adorable pups.
Flash forward to 6:30 p.m. Approximately 4 minutes and 3 photos into our shoot, it down-poured. Like, running for cover, frantically covering my camera, hiding out in the bathrooms pouring. Thankfully, the down-pour only lasted five minutes (and the pups didn't mind, obviously). Even more thankfully, Carrie and Andy weren't deterred and were such good sports about the rain!
Succop Nature Park is one of my favorite spots in Butler, PA - the sweet pond, the dreamy willow tree - it is perfect for any type of photo shoot. Oh, and the dogs loved it, too - but that was most likely for the goose poop snacks they found in between shots ;)
Lesson of the day from this super fun photo shoot: puppies and children have a lot in common. They both wiggle a lot, are not the best listeners, and like to put everything in their mouth - but above all, they take the sweetest, most adorable and genuine photos that are absolute heart-melters. And for that, I'll take a few goose poop mishaps any day!
Candidly,
Katie :)
