Emmerling Park
The year 2007: the fourth grade. I joined the crochet club (don't ask), none of my uniform polos were without the stain of chocolate milk, and my hair resembled the unfortunate crossover of a robin's nest and half-cooked ramen noodles. Elyn and I convinced her mom to take us to see The Golden Compass movie in theaters (which we felt really bad*** about because, being little Catholic school girls, this particular book series and movie were very much banned at school) and we spent the following weeks romping around her yard hiding from the Majesterium in various pine trees and discussing at length what animal form our soul daemons would take.
Flash forward to August 2020: I'm photographing Elyn's sassy 2-year-old daughter and wondering how I had somehow gotten so old?! Gia was an absolutely stunning little model and knew exactly how to nail the pouty look - though I think to most 2-year-olds, the pouty look comes quite naturally. She was accompanied by her baby doll, aptly named Baby, who was her faithful sidekick (and even debuted in quite a few photos below). This post is a bit longer than usual because practically every photo I shot turned into a favorite - this whole lifestyle session is definitely one of my favorites to date!
Candidly,
Katie :)
