Welcome Nina
I did this shoot just a few days after Christmas to welcome baby Nina into the world. Nina's family is one of my favorites to photograph, so I was so excited to have another opportunity to put them in front of my camera again. Nina was a star, and so was big sister Gia - who ran up to me as soon as I entered the house to show me her new baby sister (and also then a few new Christmas presents). Honestly, give me a Christmas tree and a huge bay window and my heart (and editing) is happy. These photos turned out better than I could have hoped for!
Newborn shoots are pretty different from any other shoots that I do. Typically I stay outdoors (I'm a sucker for natural light) and there's a lot of exploration that happens in the new location, where the focus is solely on the interaction of the family members. However with newborn shoots, since I'm in the family's home, it gives it a completely different feel. It's like I'm being welcomed into the family to see their most intimate moments - baby being changed, dad snuggling with the new baby, older siblings staring in awe over the couch at the newest addition to their family. It's for these reasons that I love lifestyle newborn photography, and this shoot was just the perfect embodiment of all of that.
So after you take a peek at these beautiful photos below, I can bet that you'll have fallen in love with newborn shoots, just like I have :)
